Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Here is Ethan's report on Mozart:

Mozart was born January 27,1756.
Mozart lived in Salzburg, Austria.
His full name was Johannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart, but he went by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Wolfgang’s house in Salzburg, Austria, was made into a museum.

He wrote his first piano sonata when he was four. At age six,he traveled all over Europe playing music. At age twelve he composed his first opera.
Constanze who was Wolfgang’s wife.
Mozart had six children, but only 2 lived.
Mozart made music for a living.
Mozart wrote more than 600 works .
A lot of people like one of Mozart’s greatest opera’s: The Marriage of Figaro.
People from all across the world came to see his operas at the opera houses.
Wolfgang also played in churches too.
Mozart died December 5,1791.

My favorite work Wolfgang created was “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik”.

It's Exam Week...

We have finished our first term of home school. What an accomplishment! Ethan is busy with exams all week. It's good to see how much we have all  learned over the term.

We have been studying the works of French Artist Jean Honore Fragonard. Ethan had to choose one of his paintings and give an oral report and interpretation of the painting. He chose to do his report on, "Le Petit Parc" (The Little Park), also known as "The Gardens of the Villa d 'Este at Tivoli".

He also had to give his own version of one of the Aesop Fables we studied.
Ethan also did his Spanish exam. I think he surprised himself by how much Spanish he remembered. He can also speak basic sentences. Here is his Exam Schedule.
